Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego
Daniel 3:16-30
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refuse to compromise to the vanity of their king. They refuse to worship anyone but God. How does their choices affect their relationship with those around them? How does it affect their own relationships with the living God? What can we learn, and how can we be encouraged by the story of these three men?
Jonah
Jonah 4
Jonah is sent to a people he didn’t want to have to deal with. He doesn’t want them to be saved. He is reluctant in the call that God has given him, and when he finally responds God works, and Jonah is mad. How are we doing with loving the neighbors that are hard? Do we want to pick and choose who will respond to what God is doing, and who God will save? Do we think that we deserve to be saved? What hope do we have in the endless love of God?
Hezekiah
2 Kings 18:19-37
Hezekiah is a follower of God in trouble. He is surrounded by the enemy. And the enemy taunts him. Sometimes living in an outpost doesn’t feel very safe. Sometimes we are in places that feel dangerous at the worst, antagonistic at the least. What happens with Hezekiah? What promises do we have from God? How do we respond when the enemy antagonizes, threatens us? How is God at work on our behalf?
Servant Girl
2 Kings 5:1-5
Naaman needed help, he had an uncurable disease. And he was pointed to his only place for hope by a young servant girl. Without her words, her master would have died. We don’t have to have a big name in order to be a raider for the kingdom. We are simply to proclaim the truth, and let the Lord work.
Joseph
2 Kings 5:1-5
Naaman needed help, he had an uncurable disease. And he was pointed to his only place for hope by a young servant girl. Without her words, her master would have died. We don’t have to have a big name in order to be a raider for the kingdom. We are simply to proclaim the truth, and let the Lord work.
Abram
Genesis 12:1-8
God called Abram to leave his country, and that God would bless all the world through him. Our message is the hope for our neighbors. Through the message of Christ our world is blessed. Do we believe that? Do we live like that? Do we realize what the hope given to Abram means for us?
